A Public Forum on Competing Fiscal Policies For September 21st, 2004, we planned a panel discussion of gay Republican, Democrat, and financial mavens at The Center. Given the impending election, we figured there could be a lively interaction on fiscal policies set forth by both leading Presidential parties. As is turned out, the Log Cabin Republican club, which refused to endorse the incumbent President George W. Bush, would not in good conscious send a delegate to represent the Republican platform. Instead we had a Q&A session with Walter Schubert, Gay Financial Network's founder, and Daniel O'Donnell, Manhattan's 69th Assembly District Member. There were friendly disagreements on state fiscal policy. |
